Body Odours Can be Offensive

Personal hygiene is important not only on the outside of a woman, but also the inside. On average, a woman bathes or showers once every day to cleanse the pores of the skin and rid the body of unpleasant odours. Sweat is not the only thing that is cleared from the skin. Sebum secreted from the skin is also removed. Sebum lubricates the skin. But, on the other hand, the sebum and sweat also traps dirt which block the pores and stops the skin from breathing. This causes spots and blackheads. Body odours that are offensive aren’t from sweat or sebum. They are formed when air cannot circulate freely over the skin because our clothes trap moisture and it is unable to evaporate. When this happens, bacteria attack the trapped moisture and it breaks down and the offensive “BO” smell is created.
For health and hygiene, a combined bath/shower is recommended. Have a shower and wash your entire body and then get into a deep, warm bath and soak in clean water. To enjoy an invigorating effect, you can wash in the bath, before or after their soak and then shower off in order to rinse away the soap and scum.
Most women tend to use bath and body products on a regular basis. If you live in an area where there is hard water, it is essential that you use bath salts, to stop the skin from drying out. It also makes the water smell nicer. Bath salts do not make aches and pains disappear. The soothing effect is due to the warm water. Bubble baths serve the same purpose, with the bubbles as an extra to make you feel special. Bath oils are used if you suffer from dry skin, because they protect you from the drying effects of water. They are most effective when added to the bath, or in some cases, rubbed into the body before getting into the bath, though more usually when you have dried off. Sometimes they are too oily, especially for those who have greasy and delicate skin. You do not have to spend a lot of money on a body oil. You can use any vegetable oil like olive oil or peanut oil. You shouldn’t use mineral oil because they are not easily absorbed. If you would like an effective reviver, then products that contain pure essences like mint or pine should be used. Pure essences are known for their soothing properties.
Sometimes it is useful to take some time for yourself and relax in a soothing bath. You can make the bath relaxing, nourishing or soothing. You can do all of these things with only things found around the house like 1 cup of powdered milk to make the bath nourishing for the skin and it keeps it moist. One large spoonful of honey will relieve tiredness and sleeplessness. One tablespoon of ground oatmeal will soothe and soften the skin. Herbal baths are usually incorporated into the hygienic regime. Chamomile flowers and thyme softens and soothe skin. Mint and rosemary stimulate circulation and blackberry leaves clear up the skin.
Body scrubs are used for gooseflesh, blackheads, and skin that needs revitalizing. The process is simple to do. Scrub down with soap and water, using a bath mitt or brush. Or, rub the area with sea salt standing up in the bath. Or rub all over with sugar, using your soap lather. You can also fill a muslin bag with ground oats or bran and scrub with that.
It is uncertain as to whether using soap is helpful or harmful to the skin. One theory is that because soap is alkaloid, and our skin is slightly acidic, the soap temporarily destroys the skin’s acid mantle. Since the balance is restored in several hours, the damage isn’t permanent. Those against soap think that the drying effect is cumulative and certainly you will feel a slight feeling of dryness. It is this feeling that some say is “Clean” however; it usually means that the soap has not been thoroughly rinsed off the skin. Nowadays, most soaps contain moisturizers to stop the drying, but it doesn’t alter the pH level. Only people with dry or sensitive skin should use acid-balanced soap
